A wide range of government support programs for SMEs continue in 2026. This year, support for AI and digital transformation as well as carbon neutrality has been significantly expanded, with the total SME support budget reaching approximately KRW 18 trillion, a 12% increase from the previous year.
The Ministry of SMEs and Startups (MSS) continues to operate flagship programs such as the Startup Growth Technology Development Program, TIPS, and Innovation Voucher, while also launching a new AI-based Manufacturing Innovation initiative. The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE) has increased its budgets for the Industrial Technology Innovation Program and Energy Technology Development Program by 15% over the previous year.

The AI-based Manufacturing Innovation support program provides up to KRW 300 million to help small and mid-sized manufacturers integrate AI into their production processes. The Carbon Neutrality Tech Innovation program offers up to KRW 500 million for greenhouse gas reduction technology development, and a new ESG Management Consulting Voucher has also been introduced.
