  • Extension of employment-linked internships from 3 months to 12 months

    1) 12-Month Internships — What a Longer Vetting Window Means

    A three-month internship often amounted to little more than an onboarding period. At twelve months, a company can let an intern experience at least one full equipment operation cycle before deciding on conversion to a permanent role. That said, a longer support period will likely come with conversion-rate requirements and follow-up obligations, so design a twelve-month job roadmap and a labor cost simulation for the conversion point from the very beginning.

  • Basic level: One internal key person to establish equipment data collection and shop-floor input is enough. Sending an existing line supervisor to training has a higher success rate than hiring externally
  • Intermediate 1-2: You need semi-specialist staff who can interpret MES and quality data and speak the technical language of your solution vendor. Without such a person at this stage, the system degenerates into a shell that only receives data entry
  • Advanced and AI factory: You need someone to monitor model performance and judge when retraining is due. If retraining occurs two or three times a year, outsourcing is favorable; if line conditions shift monthly, bringing it in-house passes the break-even point
